Fresh Babe | Easton | Vail natural light newborn photographer

Brittini and Marty are a very laid back couple. So it should have been no surprise to me when Easton was just as easy going and laid back. You hear newborn photographers talk about "rockstar babies". Now let me start my saying I think all babies are rockstars, but some are just a bit more. They *rock* their sessions. And by rock I mean totally snoozin'! Easton was a rockstar he rocked his session like no other. Dare I say he may have even been the easiest newborn I've worked with to date!

Usually newborn sessions last about 3-4 hours. And I dont mind one bit. I get to snuggle, rock, and gaze upon these beautiful new little babies. I get my baby fix!

Easton however was done in about 2 hours. I even went back a few days later to get some of him with Daddy and I was in and out in about a half hour (with half of that time being set up time!). I secretly needed more snuggle time :)

Seriously, Brittini?! You just had a baby! Could you get any more gorgeous?!

Check out all of his dainty little features. These shots are usually my favorites. We forget how quickly they grow and to be able to look back and remember *just* how small those fingers, toes, ears, and lips were. Truly is a gift.

He was so sweet and cuddly, I love him already and cannot wait to watch him grow!

This was one of the one and only times sweet baby opened his eyes. The next frame from my camera.... they are totally closed! haha Such a sleepy little boy!

Thanks Brittini for letting me snuggle your bundle of joy, he was a dream!

I used to be a banker AND Waiting on Baby Landis | Tucson, AZ Maternity Photographer

I used to be a banker....

Before I had kids I worked at a bank I was a teller supervisor. I counted lots of money, balanced drawers, found *missing* money, serviced ATMs, balanced the vault, so on and so forth. All the things a banker does. Did I like my job? I mean.... I was playing with money all day! But it was just ok. I had to sell people things. Things they didn't necessarily want and sometimes didn't really even need. I hated that. I hated selling them things I didn't believe in.

When I was 2 months pregnant with my sweet Hailey girl our bank was robbed at gunpoint. It was a total take down. He locked himself in the building with us and took everything. I was so so scared. I had already had one miscarriage and was very worried that this stress would induce another. Not only was I scared for MY life but I was scared for the life of my unborn child. When it was all over with, thankfully no one was hurt. But I was still scared. I called the doctor, they brought me in for an ultrasound and said everything looked ok. But because I was so high risk they wanted to monitor me even closer than they already were.  This meant doctors appointments every other week, ultrasounds on the off weeks, and non stress tests (NST) 3 x a week. In any given week I was at the hospital or doctors office 4 times a week. My husband and I had already decided when we found out I was pregnant that I would stay home with our baby. So the decision was simple. I was not going back to work. I put in my two weeks and was done.

After having my second daughter Isabelle, I sort of felt like I needed to do something. I knew I didn't want to go back to the bank. But that was all I had ever known. I started working as an intern at the bank when I was just 16 years old! I wanted to help people. I didn't want to sell them things they didn't necessarily want. I wanted to work with babies. For a good year I contemplated going back to school to be a nurse like my wonderful neighbor. Either in the NICU or as a labor and delivery nurse.

But then something happened, my friends were calling me to take their family photos. At this point I hadn't even started my business yet. I was just good with a camera (thanks to my Daddy). After shooting those few sessions almost 3 years ago I knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a photographer and I wanted to work with Mommas and babies!

There is just something so beautiful about a pregnant Momma. Their glow is one thing. But there is something else. I can't quite put my finger on it. And babies, oh that is a given. They just melt my heart every. single. time.

Which brings me to the point of this whole long post...

Meet Carrie.

She is expecting a baby girl here in just a few weeks. I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with her and her husband Mike a week or so ago. They were a joy to work with and so so sweet!

Carrie and Mike I have no doubt baby will be just as beautiful and easy going as  you two are, and I cannot wait to meet her!!

Little Doll | Abby | Tucson Family Photographer

Let's start this year off right! I have several resolutions this year pertaining to photography! One of which is to blog more frequently. I feel so bad when people email me and say, "Hey! I saw your blog." To which I must tell them I don't update it frequently enough and that my facebook page has the most current work. This year I need to remedy that and keep it up to date! I will share some of the other resolutions with you all in a later post.

For now let's start with the first session of the year. One pretty little girl and her fun loving parents.

We decided to go downtown and ended up walking around a little area I love to frequent. They were totally up for whatever I had in mind! Even all of my move this way, move that way, turn your head like this, ok laugh like you are having fun! Or my classic line, "I laugh in the face of danger HA HA HA HA!" {brownie points if you can name the movie that is from}

You can literally feel the love this Momma has for her baby. And Miss Abby sure does love her Momma!

This is now the third time I've seen Miss Abby and I have to admit I am growing quite fond of her! She is so cute and snuggly and those big blue eyes get me every single time. I can see her changing into a baby and not a newborn anymore. She is starting to sit now and I have no doubt she will be up and around in no time!

Her little facial expressions are hilarious!

Please say a little prayer for Abby's Daddy Joe. He deployed to Afghanistan on Sunday for a 6 month tour. I know Abby (and Cassie espcially) will miss Joe so much, but I can only be thankful for his service to our country. For reminding me that our freedom is NOT free. Everyday there are fathers that have to leave their families to fight for our freedom.

I wonder where she get's those baby blues?! hehe

Thank you Cassie and Joe for allowing me to photograph your sweet baby yet again! I cannot wait to see you again in a few months and see how much she has changed. :)

Babes : Malachi, Addi, + Isaiah | Sahuarita, AZ Child Photographer

Tara and I braved the humidity, mud, and bug infested grasses to get these shots at the Pecan Groves in Sahuarita! It was hot and muggy which actually makes for some really great newborn shots! This little 4 (four, yes I said FOUR WEEKS!) week old was a rockstar baby! He is by far the oldest "newborn" I've ever shot. And technically isn't even a newborn anymore. But circumstance were such that we didn't get to do his session until he was a touch older. He is still precious and adorable, wouldn't you say?

His big brother and sister were some pretty sweet little kiddos as well! Full of energy and up for anything! Which is just the way kids should be. Malachi just loves his brother so much you can feel it oozing from his soul. And Addi, well she wasn't quite as sure but she is still little. I have no doubt she will love sweet little Isaiah just as much as Malachi loves him!

Momma, has a thing for teeny tiny piggies. So we HAD to get some little feet shots! I have to admit I love teeny tiny piggies as well! I love to kiss them, tickle them, and massage lotion into them! And can you blame her? These are some of the cutest little toesies I have seen!

Welcome to the world little Isaiah, you are so blessed to have two siblings who love you so much! It was nice playing with you guys :)

Family : Coussens/ Johnston Clan

Irish contacted me for an extended family session to include her Grandmother. Who turned 90, YES 9-0! 2 weeks ago! Isn't she amazing! You could literally feel the love with this family! I enjoyed myself so much, by the end of the session I was crackin' up!

My goal when doing extended family sessions are to capture each individual family as well as the whole group. And of course headshots of those important people! Usually kids, but we can always do adults too!
I think someone was starved for attention! haha Oh, and are they building a
pyramid back there?!
